Was it? I remember hearing about it being passed at about the same time I heard about him being elected... I dunno, I'm a forgetful person. :P

Shit, just realized how unclear I was with that. xD
I meant to point out how funny it is that with the election of Obama, everyone's all "YAY ACCEPTANCE!" and then we go and take rights away from gays.

My aunty always says marriage is just a piece of paper, but I think the main thing that counts is as long as two people are happy with each other then why shouldn't they be able to wed?

My grandmother is only young she is like 55 or something, but she is a real young grandma. She gets worked up about gay people and gay marriages because thats all she has ever known when she was younger it was pretty much classed as a sin. See the thing is it doesn't bother me in the slightest and I think that just proves how society has changed since then and how the way people perceive same sex marriages and relationships and their attitude towards them and how it has changed in that space of time.

While my initial thought is "why would they want to get married, that's a christian tradition!," I guess I have to accept that some people are just like that, and want to follow human traditions, even if the situation is deprived of sense and logic. So let them.

^Well obviously, it will be a cold day in hell when a homosexual couple get married in a church.

I say no to gay marriage because I believe in traditional marriage. For thousands of years we humans have been doing it the same, following a beautiful tradition, a marriage between a man and a woman. I think we should keep it that way.

And I know it is not a reliable source for debate, but the bible does say things against homosexuality. I have nothing against homosexuality, but gay marriage is too far. I think that if they want gay marriage they should create an alternative ceremony that isn't technically a marriage so that they get the same benefits.

I'm completely and totally in support of gay marriage.
Who knows. Maybe one day I'll want to settle down. =]
