It has been said by medical doctors, you can not get physically addicted to pot (you can phycologically but thats different), You cannot OD although you can get sick. It doesn't seem all bad right?

WRONG.

Getting high makes you do stupid things that you might regret. It makes you look like a complete dumbass and of course like everything else in this world it can cause cancer.

One of th most important things about getting high on pot is, it leads the smoker to believe they are smarter than they really are.

So, what is the need for this drug?

The 'ol mary-jane actually does alot of good too. It's perscribed (or not :p) for pain. - It's used as a pain killer -. Also it relaxes and calms alot of people, so again it's perscribed by psycologists(sp) for people with really bad anxiety and nervous problems.
It was actually recomended for college students and high school students during finals/exams.

Other then that, if it's used as a recreational perpose I don't mind it. I don't use it, but I really don't care if my friends do. They know not to push me and respect me.

Well, before I say anything, personally I do NOT condone the use of any sort of recreational drug, even alcohol.

However, I am completely alright with other people using marijuana. If it's alright for people to buy alcohol and tobacco products, it should also be legal for people to buy marijuana. After all, it's no more hazardous for one's health than tobacco, and it's a LOT safer than alcohol (nobody gets stoned and beats up their children or spouse; getting drunk is a different story).

Again, just because I think this doesn't mean that I support its use.

hey strange, have you ever tried it. sure it give you cancer and can cause mental problems like schizophrenia. but everything else you do is bad for you too and not many of them are as fun as weed.
also if you had tried it you would know that you do not feel smarter you feel completely stupid and then do stupid thiings, this is the whole point, the thing that makes it safer than other drugs is that you are scared of doing even slightly dangerous things, ever tried to cross a road while high
and brandy is right about the stress relief, weed has been shown to improve acne, and other stress related illnesses, by lowering a persons cortisol levels.
