What's your favourite book that you have studied in English?
Mine is inspector calls, it's a very interesting play with a good plot. The characters are well developed and I like how the story and investigation develops throughout the book.

My favorite has to be "Catcher in the Rye" by JD Salinger. I know its got a bad rap for being linked to whack jobs but the symbolism in the book is just perfection - I could talk about that book for hours.

The Golden Compass!!! Yeah, they just made a movie out of it. The first time I saw the trailer, I was like... holy crap, I read this book in 8th grade!

Seriously, it was an awesome book when I read it, and I even remember a lot about it, even the in depth outline. The movie's probably going to be pretty good if they sticked to the basis of the book.

Probably the outsiders, good book even though it required somewhere around a 4th grade reading level :P

My favorite book is probably 1984, with the whole conspiracy "big brother" action.

That's definitely one of my favorites.

I actually enjoyed a couple of Shakespeare's plays like Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet.

I really cannot choose just one book that I liked. I loved 1984, The Catcher in the Rye, and many of Shakespeare's plays, especially Romeo and Juliet. I also ended up liking Mrs. Dalloway and The Turn of the Screw. One book that bored me immensely was The Mill on the Floss.

I really don't like English books because teachers usally give out boring books.

I really like the literature books handed out to us in school. All the great poets/writers are there together with their greatest works although I admit I hate to participate in the class discussion. :P

Mine were Jane Eyre, Prayer for Owen Meany, The Great Gatsby, Pride and Prejudice, and some other ones I can't think of at the moment. But I loved a lot of the books read for school.

I'm reading 1984 right now.

Out of the one's that I had to do for English, I loved the ending to Lord of the Flies, then I thought The Kite Runner was good - I used it for my coursework. And for Shakespeare, I loved Hamlet.
